Prof Yanyu Liang
Prof Yanyu Liang is an academic visitor from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) in China, where she is a Professor in College of Materials Science and Technology. Her research is focused on design and development of carbon-based nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage technologies such as hydrogen production, fuel cells, lithium-ion battery, potassium ion battery, and zinc ion battery. She has published 80 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and obtained eight patents. As a principal investigator, Yanyu has conducted and completed five projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Central Finance University Outstanding Talent Cultivation Project, Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Talent Project, and German Humboldt Scholars Fund, respectively.
Yanyu has been awarded a scholarship by the China Scholarship Council to support her visit and research in the University of Exeter for one year (June 2022-June 2023). During the visit, Yanyu works with Prof Xiaohong Li in the Renewable Energy Group on Penryn Campus on engineering design and catalyst development of novel water electrolysers for green hydrogen production for energy storage.
